Think like a customer...

The best and the worst aspect about customer success is working with people. Begin with building relationships, understanding patterns, be observant and while you do so, do not forget to be empathetic and genuine. At the end of the day outcomes are what matter, the rest is all part of the journey.

Be patient as relationships take time to build and that is key to customer success. Know your product/service deeply, take the time to learn what is important to the customer, and learn your customer (their market, competitors, their customers if B2B, leadership, what's important, etc.) Long term and strategic relationships are more than just one person deep and you need to really know the customer to foster these relationships.
